Dr. Jyotshna Sahoo, holds a Ph.D. in Library & Information Science from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Currently, she is serving as an Professor and Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Berhampur University, Berhampur, Odisha. Prior to joining Berhampur University, she served as an Associate Professor at Khallikote University, Berhampur and an Assistant Professor at Sambalpur University, Sambalpur. She has also been served as an Assistant Librarian of Odishaโ€™s Premier Institutional Cultural Heritage, โ€˜Odisha State Museumโ€™, Bhubaneswar, for over a decade. Her research interest includes Preservation and Conservation of information resources especially palm-leaf manuscripts, Knowledge Organisation, Information needs and Seeking Behaviour, Bibliometrics, Open Access and Open Educational Resources. She has authored three books and 42 research papers published in different journals of national and international repute. She was awarded ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship in 2006 for her PhD work and Junior Research Fellowship from Department of Culture, Govt. of India in 2007. She has completed two ICSSR-funded research projects namely โ€œMapping of Research Productivity in the fields of Social Sciences in Odishaโ€ and โ€œMethodological Developments and Innovations in Social Science Researchโ€. She has successfully guided 3Ph.D. students, 13 M.Phil. Scholars and 26 MLIS projects. Presently, five students are pursuing their Ph.D. work under her supervision. She is a Life Member of professional bodies like, ILA (New Delhi) IASLIC (Kolkata) and OLA (Bhubaneswar).
